What Is Really True?
Is it really true that the unpleasant emotion you may feel right now is saying anything about who you are?
Can you discern any thoughts trying to avoid, fix, or suppress it?
Thoughts that seem to try to maintain a self-image or that perpetuate self-loathing?
Thoughts that seem to tell you, you are no longer loveable, loved, safe and okay.
Can you patiently welcome it with curious objective detachment and observe its characteristics without wanting to change it?
Why is it there?
What are the children of your mind and body reacting to?
Are they in real physical need or danger?
Is some memory or a present event triggering an old traumatic experience of theirs?
Or is there another reason for this unpleasant emotion?
Can you defocus enough to discern the underlying pattern of the explosion of negative thoughts in your mind?
Can you defocus enough to discern that these unpleasant feelings in the body are not you but something happening to you?
Can you remember and find in your experience the home of the heart that is at peace amidst the storm of the mind and body that are not?
Can you see that this emotional explosion is simply that you have forgotten this home that is always there?
Can you breathe space into the body to calm its contractedness?
Can you see that instead, you are so focused on this mind and body that you think you are they, and this is the real problem, not what they tell you?
Can you see that the pattern of the whole explosion is derived from your identification with them?
Can you see that you are making yourself into some kind of illusory concept of being a separate person under threat, and this is the underlying root of all this unpleasantness?
Can you see that the belief to be a separate object disconnects you from our direct experience of being an eternal flow of existence?
Therefore, can you see that this is the fundamental trigger of existential anxiety?
Can you see that this is just a belief and not a reality?
For what are you really?
If you are not the thoughts of the mind and the sensations of the body?
Do you know what you are?
Do you see that you cannot know what you are, but that is not important because you are here, existing now, and life is happening?
50 trillion cells and a whole Universe working right now without your control at all.
Can you trust this miracle?
Do you see that it is only when you try to tell yourself subconsciously or consciously that you know what you are and unquestioningly define yourself as a separate body and mind and forget that you are not they that the unpleasant emotions are triggered?
Is this insight clear?
Can you see you have a choice?
Can you see this simple truth that lies at the heart of your suffering?
Can you see you chose the suffering because you thought it would make you happy?
Can you see that what is meant by choice is the flow of consciousness going this way or that and not a person at all?
Can you see that the peace you are has never gone away? It just seemed to go away because you forgot you were not the mind and body, and you believed in the thoughts that told you, you were they.
Can you see that you have another immediate experience of yourself that is imminently present even now?
Can you see that this experience is not the thoughts of the mind, inner sensations, or our sense perceptions of the body?
Can you see that you are what is aware of those things?
Can you see that you can be directly aware of yourself that is this awareness?
Can you experience the divine spark of being directly aware of yourself?
Can you see it is something and not nothing, even though it cannot be perceived?
Can you open to the possibility that this awareness you are is not generated at all by the mind and body and that it is directly the living consciousness of everything in all dimensions?
Do you know it is not?
Can you allow yourself to glimpse the reality of your own awareness in this way?
Can you now open your eyes and senses to see that everything you previously believed was separate is part of you, made of you?
Have you found your peace again?
Can you see that by letting go of believing to be a separate person, the real cause of your misery is resolved?
Can you see that this story of being a separate person in time and space made you feel guilt and shame and doubt about this person's past and worry for the future of this person?
Can you see that all this vanishes in an instant now that you have admitted you do not know you are a person and are instantaneously open to being a universal consciousness?
Are you aware of this body and mind feeling free of this psychological suffering?
Are you feeling centred in your heart again?
Can you hear the still, small voice guiding your actions based on freedom and love for the world, not fear?
Do you feel a nourishing wonder at being in this creation again, experiencing the profound intimacy between the creation and yourself?
Does the Universe shine beautifully?
Do you feel a powerful love for everything?
Do you feel the peace of understanding you are this openness?
Can you see that you are this sacred reality that is always at peace and follows a deep current?
Can you allow yourself to attune to this deep current?
Can your mind and body bathe in this peace, and are they functioning constructively?
Is it clear to you that understanding all this is the experience they call ‘spiritual enlightenment’?
Is it clear to you that the sacred tools to take you there were the innate sacred power of thought and imagination and the relaxing experience of the body you created in the first instance as sacred vehicles for your return to your real conscious self?
Can you see that no real effort was involved, just understanding to get you there, to the home of what you really are?
Is it clear that this should be so, as these things are part of the natural manifestation and are the sacred spiritual tools in themselves, and nothing else is really required?
Is it clear to you that the consciousness you are now "chooses" not the person you thought you were?
Is it clear that the physicists refer to this as a quantum phenomenon of appearing or disappearing and that the word "choice" is an anthropomorphism?
Is it clear that the universal flow of consciousness is now re-configuring this mind from its habitual belief to be separate, not you as a separate person?
Is it clear that the universal flow of consciousness is sometimes unaware of itself, not a person unaware of it?
Can you see that the strain of anxiety is the instantaneous effect of believing there is a person in control of this flow and is what we call the ego?
Is it clear that recognising ourselves as this undefinable flow of consciousness is the natural imperative of consciousness to be united with itself - to complete the circle?
Is it clear this equates in human terms to a path of naturally being our natural undefinable open self every moment?
Is it clear that, by letting go and trusting the flow, we can see through these limited eyes and convince this limited mind that we are this flow and it is totally trustworthy, and then we can enjoy the ride of living as an individual as part of this flow?
