What Is The "non-dual" Experience of Oneness?
I ask myself do I know I am?
Yes
How do I know I am?
Because I experience, I am. It is clear that this is not intellectual knowing. It is an immediate intuitive knowing.
How do I recognise this experience?
This experience is instant knowing of being or existing. I instantly know I exist.
I do not need to make any effort to recognise this experience.
This experience is numinal or self-illuminating – it is known by itself of itself, not known by any form, for I can see nothing that tells me of my existence apart from the knowing of it.
This experience is non-located. Time and space do not matter in this experience at all. There is no time or space for this experience.
This experience is always available and present, sometimes more in the background, sometime in the foreground. Walking down the street, talking to a friend, or just being.
This experience is "superordinary", not "extraordinary". It is the most ordinary of all experiences.
This experience is still initially not moving, though the movement I perceive of forms around me I realise in the light of this experience of stillness is made of this stillness for I can see no evidence any form is separate from it, including the immediate body I perceive and all other forms around me.
This experience seems to be both what I call “I”, what I cannot see, and what I call “it”, what I can see.
This experience is as far back as I can go. I can find no other experience behind or somewhere else in my experience.
This experience makes it clear that I am not my thoughts and feelings of this body, and I can find no experience of any separate person.
All things seem to flow from this experience even the thoughts appearing in this mind that I previously thought there was a person thinking I can now see are just thought streams appearing.
This experience is not definable in that it has not form at all, and I cannot know what it is, but I definitely know that it is
This experience is not affected by the things and movement within it in the slightest.
This experience is always peaceful, though the emotions in the body and the thoughts in the mind may sometimes not be.
This experience seems to be best described as "heart" because it seems a much deeper current than the intellectual mind stream.
This experience is real, and having recognised it, it is more real than the perceptions I previously thought of as real.
This experience is always there, and time does not matter. Therefore, whatever happens in this experience I see is just a momentary expression of it; every moment is essentially new. There is no need to attach to anything.
This experience does not appear to have any beginning or end, and therefore I conclude that I have no beginning or end and must be indestructible.
This experience awakens me to deep intimacy with everything around me as I sense everything is "made" of me.
This experience fills me with a sense of energetic potential.
This experience fills me with a sense of peace and tranquillity amidst the movements of form around me.
This experience is intelligent and indicates a deeper current to activity as I listen to it.
This experience is profoundly nourishing and leaves me less seeking activities that I previously sought to make me feel safe or satisfied in some way.
This experience is instantly joyful.
How do you recognise the experience of your being?
